The New Fruitful Centre

We enjoyed our visit this February to the new Fruitful Centre in the middle of Kibera Slum, Nairobi.
The old Centre was demolished and in its place a new two story brick building was built. The Centre is home to 20 children and school for around 100.
It’s hard to describe the excitement of the children and staff as they move into their new home. They really appreciate all that has been done.
This building has full planning permission and compared to the old Centre, the children feel they are living in a palace. There’s lots of room for the children and staff. In the communal space we have built a library through a generous donation.
We carried with us on our flight to Kenya around 100 kgs of books. From the pictures you will see we need to carry more next time.
The video was taken after all the ceremonies had taken place to show you the size of the new building.
Downstairs the rooms are a little dark, small windows are important for security reasons. Upstairs it is much brighter.
And it’s all paid for by generous donations.
Enjoy your tour.
