Children’s School and Orphanage Support
I’d like to say a big thank you to those who have walked with us through the year, we haves much to be grateful for. There are three schools in the slums around Nairobi that receive our monthly support, one of which is an orphanage. Without this they would struggle to give the children a daily meal and support their teachers.
Conservation Farming Group
Our farming projects continue over a wide area of Kenya, seeking to provide a sustainable way of growing and providing food for their families. The two farming projects at Inyuu and Kuisyani, where wells have been drilled, are now starting to produce income from sales.
These are developing into sustainable projects that will provide income for our team’s wider work in Kenya. Expansion into bee keeping, the production of young trees to sell and developing a breeding programme of both local and hybrid goats that will eventually strengthen the sustainability of these Centres.At both these centres, teaching is offered where knowledge can be passed on to farmers in the area.
Kibwezi 4 Well Project
Mtito Andie & Nthunguni Wells Completed In 2024
Our big focus from April was the “Kibwezi 4 Well Project” This month the second well will start pumping much needed water for the local community. We are planning to visit Kenya in January, where we will visit the two wells and see them pumping water, it will be a joy!
We took the decision to connect them to the electric system. This will give the ability to continue pumping in the evening and through the night, providing extra water to be made available to distribute over a wider area. The second decision was to purchase a small filtration system at both projects, that will produce water to the standard of commercial bottled water. This will be sold at a premium, and will be bought locally instead of buying bottled water.
In 2025, our plan is to complete the wells at Longoni & Kitenge
It will be our intension on the return from our visit in January 2025 to begin to raise money for the last two wells in the “Kibwezi Project”. On completion of these wells, we will achieve our vision of making our partners , Children’s Ministry Team, no longer reliant on support from us. This will allow them to become self-funded through the various projects that together, we have put into place.
