Dear Friends,

We have something to shout about! Our first well is complete!

With thanks to all our supporters, we have completed drilling, at a town called Mtitto Andei, an area of extreme water poverty and great need.

  • A hydrological survey disappointingly predicted 2,000 litres an hour for this semi-arrid area.
  • We were warned the water could possibly be salty or even have other chemicals in it
  • We were advised that the other 3 sites showed more promise.
  • However, because of the real need and water poverty and that the estimates were deemed to be conservative, the decision was made, Mtito Andei, first well

Drilling started on Saturday 29th June.

  • 48 hours later, 240 mts deep, water was found
  • Good quality water, no futher filtration required to make it drinkable
  • Not 2,000, but 6,000 litres per hour
  • I was told the excitement among the 6,000 inhabitants of Mtitto was like carnival time!

On  20th July the water tower will be completed and good clean water will flow to the people at an affordable rate. With this, we have started the journey in supporting the local church and self sustainability for our partner CMT.  We could only do this through the support we have received. See our website for more pictures and video’s here .Thank You

That now leads us on to Well no 2, at Nthunguni Town

The well at Mtitto came in just below budget at £44,000. We already have  £12,000 available ready for the next well. If you are able, please will you  join us and support this 2nd well at Nthunguni. The people there are excited after witnessing the events at Mtitto, and so they should be! Fresh water is a game changer.
